Welcome to the Panda class. What a fantastic first term we have had! We really enjoyed learning about our class animal, writing labels, captions, instructions and letters in literacy and mastering some new tricky skills in maths.
Our topic for the first half of the Spring Term is ‘Caring for Ourselves and Others’. We will be learning about how to stay healthy, different parts of the body and the five senses, the lives of significant people such as Florence Nightingale and Edith Cavell, and we will be exploring the question ‘How should we care for others and the world, and why does it matter?’
In literacy we will continue to use our love for stories and poetry to inspire our writing. We will write instructions explaining how to be a good dragon, based on the teachings of Madame Dragon in the book ‘Zog,’ and we will write a character description of Evil Pea from the ‘Supertato’ stories.
In maths we will consolidate place value to 20 and add and subtract numbers to 20.
