Welcome to the Year 6 class page. We are so excited to have you here for your final year in primary school – we cannot wait to see you flourish. Year 6 is full of learning, fun and new challenges as we get ready for secondary school. Keep checking this page for updates, news and all the exciting things we will be doing this year!
Summer 1
We cannot believe we are in the final term of Year 6. This is an incredibly busy (and important) one for us. The children have been working very hard all year and we are so proud of everything they have achieved.
In the build up to the Key Stage 2 SATs, which will take place on the week commencing Monday 11th May 2026, we will continue with our revision to support the children.
As we have finished delivering our maths curriculum, we will spend the rest of this half-term revisiting topics which we think will be beneficial to them. In Guided Reading, we will be looking at our new mentor text - The Extraordinary Colours of Auden Dare bu Zillah Bethell. We will also be reminding ourselves about strategies for answering SATSs style reading in questions. In English, we will be writing a balanced discussion about the use of renewable energy and are also looking forward to writing another narrative.
Detailed planning can be found on the subject pages under the Curriculum tab.
