FS1 provides a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment for all our children. Our aim is to ensure every child has the best possible start in their school life and the support that enables them to reach their full potential. Nursery is an important period of children’s education as it develops an early love of learning. During their time in FS1 we ensure all children are prepared to begin more formal education in FS2.

Our topic for Autumn 1 is People Who Help Us

Key vocabulary pupils will learn through this topic can be found in the table below. The children will also practice saying each word in a complete sentence.

thermometer	A doctor uses a thermometer.
x-ray	X-rays show us if bones are broken.
toothbrush	We brush our teeth with a toothbrush.
uniform	A uniform shows us where people work.
hosepipe	Hosepipes put out fires.

Story time 

Books shared at story time have been carefully selected to ensure our pupils; learn new vocabulary, speak in clear sentences, develop their conversational skills, deepen their understanding and ask and answer questions.

The Penguin Room 

The Penguin Room is fun, engaging, exciting, safe and secure!

   

The children take part in a variety of activities including, phonics, number time, P.E, art and crafts, painting, building, role-play, circle time, singing and much more! 

   

We encourage the children to be independent, kind, resilient, polite and caring.
