Spring Term 1 topic: On the Move!

In Spring 1, we will be learning about transport and vehicles! We will explore different vehicles like cars, buses and trains, and talk about how they travel. We will learn some simple, important rules too, such as wearing a seatbelt in the car and having a ticket when we go on a bus or train. We will use stories, songs and play to help us learn together. Some of the stories we will read include "Terrific Trains", "Brilliant Boats", "Cool Cars" and "Amazing Aeroplanes".

Each week, your child will be encouraged to create a piece of art which links to the story being read. This develops conversation skills, small motor skills, understanding and imagination.

There will also be a range of continuous provision activities each week to access in the classroom and outdoor area, supporting the prime and specific areas of development which link to our topics and curriculum goals. Some of the activities taking place this term include vehicle matching games, building different types of vehicles, practising pencil and scissor control as well as having a visit from some exciting vehicles!
