We are so excited to welcome you and your child to our nursery! This term is all about settling in, building relationships and getting to know our routines. The children will be learning through play, bonding with their teachers, and having lots of fun along the way!

Our topic for Autumn 2 is Once Upon a Time

Our second topic is all about traditional fairytales and reading lots of stories that encourage this, such as, "The Three Little Pigs", "The Gingerbread Man", "Jack and the Beanstalk" and "Red Riding Hood".

Each week, your child will be encouraged to create a piece of art which links to the story being read. This develops conversation skills, small motor skills, understanding and imagination.

There will also be a range of continuous provision activities each week to access in the classroom and outdoor area, supporting the prime and specific areas of development which link to our topics and curriculum goals. Some of the activities taking place this term include, learning Christmas songs and actions to go along with it, decorating and tasting gingerbread people, identifying friends and environmental phonics games.

Story time 

Books shared at story time have been carefully selected to ensure our pupils; learn new vocabulary, speak in clear sentences, develop their conversational skills, deepen their understanding and ask and answer questions.
